Requests for Commission Work

THIS IS THE JOURNEY
1. Contact me at sharen@sharenchatterton.com and let me know you would like to explore a commissioned piece. I’ll email you back with information that will allow us to discuss over the phone or meet in person, if you are local, what kind of piece you would like to commission. We will discuss size, price, colors, content, and review other paintings that I have done. This meeting will really help me to get an overview of what you are thinking about.

2. A commission piece requires more time in terms of preliminary sketches, and discussions between you, my customer and myself, to make sure we get it just right. Therefore, the cost of a commission piece will be slightly higher than my other works, by reviewing my originals gallery and the pricing there, you can get an idea of the price range you may be looking at.

3. The next step is to create a sketch.I will email preliminary sketches, for your approval, feel free at this time to make any suggestions, comments, etc., my goal is to create a painting especially for you, one that will bring you many years of joy and that you will be 100% satisfied with. Once I get approval on the sketch, I require a non refundable deposit equal to one-third (1/3) the purchase price of the commissioned piece. When I have received the deposit, I begin painting. I will send a couple of images during the process and then I will send you the finished image.

Once it’s approved by you, the balance of the purchase price will be due. Once received, I will have your special painting packaged very carefully and shipped to you!

Shipping

Shipping costs are paid for by the buyer, this price will be included in the final invoice. We will discuss your method of payment before your 1/3 deposit is made. Payment may be through PayPal, credit card, through my web site; I also except a check or money order. I recommend purchasing insurance covering your painting during shipping, this can also be added to the final invoice.

Because a commission piece is created specifically for you, with your input, a commission piece can not be returned. I will make every effort to make sure that you are 100% satisfied with the piece throughout the process. Once you receive the painting, experience it in your environment, if there are any issues, just let me know.
