Started up some visual art journaling classes for the new year at Gypsy Muse Studio.  It is always so wonderful to start a new creative journey and these ladies are just beginning along their paths in visual art journaling. Below are some of the pages created with acrylics, thermal paper, and ink. Some have finished and others are still working on their pages, but all did a fantastic job.

What a great time we had at our Stamp Carving Mini Workshop. These ladies did such a great job creating their own designs and carving them into stamps. Each piece is so unique and such a wonderful surprise when you see the first print!

What a great job these folks did on their altered books, this was a long workshop and the results are a reflection of what a great job they did.

The following watercolor pieces were created using wet into wet technique, as well as a little salt. Come create a watercolor stained glass in our next Sunday watercolor class. Sign up now, space is limited.

I held my first Altered Book Workshop “Setting Them Free”, at Gypsy Muse Studio in October. What a fantastic job the whole class did. We took a vintage book and using mixed media techniques, we set free the butterflies and flowers. It was so cool to see how different everybody’s looked. What a great time we had on Sunday creating our Roosters! Some finished, some did not, but once again, the finished ones look fantastic and the works in progress will be beautiful. What fun we had creating these repeating patterns, using scissors, paint tubes and paint brushes. Using a wet on wet techniques the ladies got some really interesting results. Although we didn’t all finish, everyone got a great start and when finished, will all look wonderful!

We have been working on Stargazer Lilies and a Rose. Some have finished, some have not, but they are all coming along really well. These are lengthier pieces than we have worked on before, so they have had to practice watercolor patience as they complete these beauties.

In our last watercolor class we used a light source to cast exaggerated shadows on our flowers. We then used complementary colors to create our flowers and cast shadows. For the most part we finished up, but still had a little work to do on some. Once again the ladies did a fantastic job.

What fun we have been having in our watercolor classes the last couple of Sundays. These ladies can paint, no matter what they say. We have been spending a lot of time on flowers, they are just so beautiful in my front and side yard. Cone flowers, sunflowers, day lilies, zinnias oh my! We also created an eight pane window using complimentary colors, turning cone flowers into sunflowers. We didn’t quit finish, but what a great start.
