Summer III

Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers. These three were in a big bunch in our side yard. There are so many varieties of sunflowers, its not hard to find myself painting these beauties for hours. They are also great for attracting birds, bees and butterflies to the garden. The Eastern Tiger Swallowtail is attracted to the Mexican Sunflower and the Bordered Patch butterfly larvae feed on sunflowers. So plant some sunflowers, not only will you enjoy their beauty, but you will be providing for the birds, bees and butterflies that are attracted to them.
