Summer II

This is one of my husbands favorite pieces. He loves all the flowers and butterflies and as a 48″ x 48″ canvas, it is pretty impressive in person. There are Shasta daisies, hollyhocks, sunflowers, and black eyed Susan’s, providing the nectar for a couple of swallow tail butterflies and a bushfoot butterfly. This was the second in a series of paintings I did that capture the beauty of our summer side yard.  My intent was to combine two of my passions, flower gardening and painting.  I feel like both of these passions exploded on this canvas, creating a joyful song.
